Last night, we had a livestream to talk give away prizes, talk comics, and reveal a first look at our upcoming scifi and horror graphic novel anthology "Cellar Door"
Don't forget, we'll be sending out your rewards the third and fourth week of October! If you're local, you can pick up your rewards in person at Chimera's Comics Oak Lawn on Friday, October 26 from 5PM on and join us for some celebratory refreshments as well.

Join Us For Our Reward Pickup Party!
We'll cut to the chase: your rewards are almost ready to go! We had a pretty significant delay the last two months while we moved our La Grange store to its new home at 15 and 1/2 S. La Grange Road, so we apologize for the delay that's caused.
But on Friday, October 26, we're hosting a reward pickup party at Chimera's Comics Oak Lawn at 4915 W. 95th Street, Oak Lawn, IL 60453. Join us anytime after 5PM to pickup your rewards, have a drink with us, and celebrate all the ways this project helped improve our stores!
If you aren't local, we'll be shipping out your rewards that same week.

Hi everyone! We're finishing our graphics and ordering our rewards but some rewards can't be ordered until we have final quantities and specific info (i.e., tshirt sizes) so if you haven't done so PLEASE fill out your surveys ASAP!

Only 19 people have not filled out their surveys - once we get the last of them we can get the rewards ordered and fulfilled! We can't wait to invite you over for a fulfillment party and announce our next Kickstarter campaign. It's going to blow the doors off of this AND Magnificent and you backers will get front row seats to the action.

A Helpful Guide For Your Surveys

Good news! All surveys have been sent. I learned recently that BackerKit sends out surveys in waves: first, to 5% of you to make sure we can work out any bugs. Then, we can release the surveys to everyone. By now, you should all have them in your inbox.
The survey is SUPER easy to use which is half the reason I paid for it, but I also put together this short tutorial for you in case you have any difficulties or questions!
Now What?
The sooner you fill out your surveys, the sooner we can fulfill your rewards! During the survey process, you can:
Provide custom info like t-shirt sizes;
Tell us which email you'd like to receive digital rewards at;
Give us your preferred spelling for our Thank You Wall at the store;
Update your shipping address; and
Select Add-Ons and Stretch Goals to add to your reward!
We'll be back in touch soon with details on some upcoming events and changes to Chimera's Comics, plus a better look at our new projects. Stay tuned!

Thank you all for your tremendous patience with me while I was out for the days leading up to my wedding and for my honeymoon after. I'm going to talk a little bit about where I've been, our progress on rewards, surveys, and our fulfillment party. I'll sum it up in this video if you don't want to read all of this, and if you prefer words read on!

Where Have I Been?
On June 30, I got to marry the love of my life, Christine. Everyone asked me if I was nervous and I said, "Why should I be nervous? I'm very lucky. Christine is the one making a huge mistake!" But in spite of my warnings, I couldn't talk her out of it and she married me anyway. :)
I planned to update you once more before I left but I bit off a bit more than I could chew while trying to pull off the wedding. Thanks to the help of a loving (and patient) family and my capable groomsmen (seriously, they might as well have been the Avengers for all they did for me) everything went off perfectly.

I'm telling you all of this because I'm of the school of thought that Kickstarter backers don't just back projects: they back people, and they back ideas. So I want to share with all of Kickstarter a little more about me personally.
Progress On Rewards
I'm finishing up the artwork as we speak and over the weekend to make sure everything is up to print quality specifications, and will start placing orders next week. With shipping times I expect a two-three week turnaround. Once I get an ETA on every reward, I'll be able to schedule our fulfillment party and tell you when rewards are shipping. This gives you plenty of time for...
Surveys!
Surveys will be hitting your email inbox later today if they haven't already. BackerKit sends out the first surveys in a small group so we can beta test any problem, then releases the survey to everyone. I will put together a video tutorial for you if you need it, but I promise that the folks at BackerKit have put together a great platform that's super easy to use. In the survey, you'll:
Provide shipping information;
Add-On items and stretch goals to customize your rewards; and
Provide important information like t-shirt sizes

What About My Prize?
To save on shipping costs we'll be shipping out your prizes WITH your Kickstarter rewards. So if you won a copy of Magnificent: The Official Novelization, a gift certificate to the store, or a copy of Your Kickstarter Is About To Fail (And What You Can Do About It) then you will get those with your rewards.
Don't worry, if you didn't win one you can purchase on as an Add-On
Fulfillment Party
As I mentioned, I don't want to set this date in stone until I get a final ETA on all the rewards. And some of that will depend on everyone filling out their surveys ASAP. I'm tentatively targeting August 4 at Chimera's Comics Oak Lawn to coincide with Buy Indie Comics Day. More on that later.
